Ethereum co-founder leaves cryptocurrency
Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio said he gave up on the world of digital currencies, in part because of personal security concerns.
Mr. Di Iorio has been hiring a personal bodyguard since 2017. No matter where he goes or what he does, the Ethereum co-founder needs to be accompanied.
Di Iorio plans to sell Decentral (a Toronto-based software development and innovation center) and will focus on philanthropy and non-crypto-related business ventures.
“Cryptocurrencies have some risks. I don’t feel safe in this industry. If I focus on the bigger problems, I’ll be more secure. “
For the past few years, Di Iorio has tried venture capital and startup advice. In February 2018, Forbes estimated his net worth up to 1 Billion USD. The Ethereum price has also more than doubled since then.
In 2013, Anthony Di Iorio co-founded Ethereum and the product became the center of many popular digital currency projects. Ethereum currently costs 1.871 USD/ VND, total market capitalization is around 217 Billion USD.
In 2018, the Ethereum co-founder bought one of Canada’s largest and most expensive apartments. Then he spent 22 Million dollars a penthouse in St. Regis Residences Toronto in the downtown business district.
“I want to diversify my investments and not just be the father of Ethereum,” said Di Iorio. “Cryptocurrency is a small percentage of what the world needs,” he emphasized.
