Google Trends: Search query “NFT” rises to 100, while “Bitcoin” and “Ethereum” below 30. fall

While Bitcoin, NFT assets, Ethereum, and crypto markets had a boom year in 2021, they didn’t make it into Google’s “Top Search of the Year” rating.

Interest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and cryptocurrency has subsided due to Google search trends. Basically, Google Trends analyzes the popularity of the top searches around the world and in the region and rates certain keywords and phrases based on the number of searches.

In the past year, crypto assets like BTC and ETH have rallied tremendously and reached record prices. Usually when the price hits a new high, Google Trends sees the global query go up and the opposite happens when the price goes down.

The indices show that the keyword “Bitcoin” reached 100 points in the week from 16 to 22 May 2021, a decrease of 72% to the current 28 points.

The query score for the keyword “Ethereum” is now only 8 points, 68% below the high of 25 points in 2021. “Cryptocurrency” has a score of 3.75% less than a high of 12 in May.

The query score for the keyword “NFT” reached its high of 100 this week according to Google Trends statistics from Friday. In the first week of January 2021, this number stayed at the 1-point mark, then rose slowly in the first six months , but it rose dramatically through the end of 2021 and into the new year.

While total crypto market capitalization has been falling recently, the query for “how to sell Bitcoin” has dropped 12 points, 88% lower than the week of May 14-20, 2 years ago.
