Binance.US Have A Big Announcement: It Is Building a Virtual Office in the Solana Metaverse!

The arrival of brands into the metaverse space has begun. Binance.US is setting an office in the Solana Metaverse.

Binance intends to have a presence in Portals, a metaverse platform based on the Solana blockchain.

Portals describes itself as an “Animal Crossing meets Sim City meets Sandbox and Decentraland”. It operates differently than the above protocols. Portals utilizes an NFT collection of “5000 access key cards” to allow users to own a place in the Portals virtual world rather than plots of land. Portals also includes fully integrated audio and video chat capabilities.

Binance will have a location in Portals Downtown. The space will be dedicated to “delivering the latest news, charts, and events virtually”. Users will freely roam and explore buildings and interactive rooms in the metaverse urban environment.

Binance.US spokesperson Zachary Tindall said the virtual buildout is meant to be a gathering place for exchange users.

“We are creating a space in the metaverse for the Binance.US community to come together,” Tindall told CoinDesk in an email. “It’s the first of many steps we’re taking to be forward-looking as we build and reach our community in new environments.”

Over the last year, a growing number of businesses have announced ambitions to join the metaverse. Last week, Samsung Electronics America collaborated with Decentraland, an Ethereum-based virtual reality platform, to enter the metaverse. In a larger attempt to pioneer metaverse-based apps, Facebook underwent a significant rebranding and became Meta. In addition, FTX.US, the US arm of crypto exchange FTX, will open an office in Portals.
