The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) gained massive attention and success in 2021. After its initial release in April, the Bored Apes has become the most popular collection of NFTs by trading volume and value. Unsurprisingly, the number of famous celebrities that “aped-in” increased gradually. Today, we will take a look at their selection of Ape.

Early Adopters

Steve Aoki

The EDM artist is a true NFT enthusiast. He has been interacting with NFTs longer than most celebrity Ape owners and has released his own NFT collection. He was one of the early Ape adopters with the purchase of BAYC #8716  for 49 ETH and currently own more than 10 combinations of Bored & Mutant Apes.

GaryVee

Like Steve Aoki, GaryVee (a.k.a. Gary Vaynerchuk) is another NFT enthusiast. He has always been a huge promoter of NFT and its utility. According to a tweet, he “aped-in” extremely early and probably minted from launch.  He currently owns 3 Bored Apes, #1452, #7912 and #8106 and his own successful NFT collection, VeeFriends.

Dez Bryant

By earning his Ape #2902 in the summer, Dez Bryant was one of the first athletes that joined the club. The Ape #2902 was presumably transferred to him as a gift and was worth around 10 ETH at the time. It is currently worth 60 ETH, around $250,000.

Marshmello

The EDM DJ was an earlier adopter of NFTs. Besides the Bored Ape, he also owns a CryptoPunk and has released several NFT collections for his fans. His Ape, #4808 is a rare one and cost him 75 ETH but now is worth around 150 ETH.

Billionaire investor and entrepreneur Mark Cuban is no Stranger to the NFT space. The Bored Ape #1597 was given to him as a gift and is currently worth about $250,000.

Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors Star Shooter has aped into the Bored Ape Yacht Club with Ape #7990. The Ape costs the NBA star 55 ETH which was around $180,000 or 0.39% of his $45.7M salary next season.

LaMelo Ball

LaMelo became an Ape owner in early June 2021. His first one Ape #7226 was acquired for 1.2 ETH in May and the later one, Ape #598 was bought a few weeks later for 1.75 ETH.

Shaquille O’Neal

The retired NBA star and celebrity influencer “aped-in” at beginning of the last quarter of 2021 with the Mutant Ape #14452. He purchased the Ape for 4.8 ETH, which was around $20,000.

Von Miller

Los Angeles Rams Linebacker Von Miller bought Bored Ape #4733 for 25 Ethereum. Miller also owns Ape #1432 which was transferred, presumably as a gift, from NFL athlete Dez Bryant.

Lil Baby

American Rapper Dominique Armani Jones, known by most as Lil Baby, owns both a Mutant Ape and Bored Ape in his NFT collection. He shared his purchases with his 5.8 million Twitter followers, and he currently uses his Mutant Ape as his profile picture on Twitter. Lil Baby purchased his Mutan Ape #10259 for 38 ETH, and it is now estimated to be worth around 70 Ethereum, or $300,000.

Jimmy Fallon

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon recently joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club. He acquired the Bored Ape #599 for 46.6 ETH on 12th November 2021 and used it as his Twitter profile picture right after the purchase.

Post Malone

Singer and songwriter Post Malone recently acquired 2 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs for over $700,000. His purchase is featured in his recent music video with The Weeknd. Post Malone currently uses his Bored Ape #961 as his profile picture on Twitter.
Bored Ape #961 isn’t the rappers only ape, he purchased Bored Ape #9039 on Halloween for 85 Eth. Bored Ape #9039 is a six trait dark brown fur ape with a diamond grill grin, cowboy hat and rainbow suspenders.

Future

Rapper Future joined BAYC over the Thanksgiving weekend. His BAYC #4672 was purchased for 48.88 ETH around $222,000 in 28th November 2021. Future has been flexing his NFTs all over Twitter, and it seems like he’s really excited about what’s to come.

The Chainsmokers

Production American DJ duo The Chainsmokers were among the earliest celebrities to add a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT to their collection. This Cheetah Fur Bored Ape #7691 was purchased for 55 Ether, and the Duo uses it as their profile picture on Twitter.

Snoop Dogg

American rapper and NFT collector Snoop Dogg owns a full set of BAYC (#6723), MAYC (M1 and M2) as well as a Bored Ape Kennel Club. In the announcement tweet, Snoop Dogg claimed: “When I APE in I APE all the way in!!” and he wasn’t lying.

Eminem

American Rapper, Marshall Mather a.k.a. Eminem has paid roughly $462,000 for the BAYC #9055 which the Bored Ape resembles the rapper. His Shady Holdings alias on OpenSea owns 22 NFTs as of midday Monday, including eight purchased at the start of the year.
