Shiba Inu Is Now Available on Mexico’s Largest Crypto Exchange
The second-largest meme coin, Shiba Inu, is now accessible for trade on Bitso
Bitso, Mexico’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that the famous meme coin Shiba Inu (SHIB) is currently available for trading on its platform.
The exchange first hinted at the listing in late December.
Bitso now supports 16 cryptocurrencies, including Compound (COMP), Axie Infinity (AXS), Chainlink (LINK), and more. The original meme cryptocurrency, Dogecoin (DOGE), is conspicuously absent from the list.
Bitso became the first cryptocurrency unicorn in May 2021 after obtaining $250 million in Series C fundraising from investors including Tiger Global, a venture capital company, and Coatue Management, a $48 billion hedge fund. It was worth $2.2 billion at the time.
As part of its Bitso Shift project, the business forged a partnership with crypto giant Circle in November to facilitate cross-border payments between Mexico and the United States. Bitso has also been a long-time partner of Ripple, a blockchain business located in San Francisco.
The Latin American crypto unicorn announced a three-year relationship with Brazilian professional football (soccer) team Sao Paulo FC earlier this month.
In early December, Mercado Bitcoin, Brazil’s largest exchange, added Shiba Inu support.
The coin was also introduced earlier this week by the Indian cryptocurrency exchange Giottus.
The cryptocurrency is currently trading on a number of worldwide platforms, including Binance, Coinbase, Gemini, and others.
Bitstamp, Europe’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, has affirmed that SHIB will still be listed in early 2022.
On major spot markets, the Shiba Inu price is now about $0.000029.
