Shiba Inu warns of 3 fake SHIB contracts listed on Coinmarketcap

The official account of Shiba Inu has published a statement on the further listing of fake contracts of SHIB tokens on CoinMarketCap. The official account of the largest crypto price tracker browser responded to this statement.

Warning from the Shiba Inu Team

Follow official announcement The Shiba development team posted on Twitter warned users about three fake Shiba Inu contract addresses listed on CoinMarketCap. All three addresses, BEP20, Solana and Terra, are considered invalid and should not be used.

As reported by the SHIB official representative, the above addresses are designed to sell Shiba Inu tokens, but it is more likely that the contracts listed on Coinmarketcap are fake and work like honey pots Inu pendants that the main chain does not purchase want to use tokens.

According to the statement, CoinMarketCap’s management declined to contact the Shiba development team regarding the cancellation of the aforementioned contracts and that they are “ready to allow scammers to further sabotage SHIB”.

Official response from CoinMarketCap

A few hours ago CoinMarketCap made a statement return message to the official Shiba Inu account and the Shiba community by stating that the contracts listed are wormhole addresses designed to facilitate support for cross-chain transactions with packaged tokens.

These addresses allow users from various EVM compatible chains to work with tokens originally provided on the Ethereum chain.

The official Shiba Inu account has not yet commented on CMC’s statement, with the latest tweet indicating that all contracts are listed as “false”.
