Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero Hashrate Hits ATH While Other Networks Remain Lackluster

In the first month of 2022, the hashrate of both Bitcoin and Ethereum has increased to ATH levels. While Bitcoin’s hash power increased to over 200 exahashes per second (EH/s), Ethereum’s hash power increased to over 1 petahash per second (PH/s). However, a number of other digital asset networks have seen their hashrates drop from previous ATHs, and the processing power of these protocols has not been able to return to their prime.

The processing power of some networks is still lacking

Right now, bitcoin processing power is exceeding the 200 exahash per second (EH/s) region after hitting the ATH threshold on Jan. 15. Statistics for the last 6 months show that the Bitcoin BTC hashrate hit a daily high of 216.50 EH/s on January 16th.

The indicators for the last 6 months also show that Monero’s hashrate is also hitting an all-time high, currently around 3.49 gigahashes per second (GH/s).

In 4 days, the bitcoin grid difficulty is expected to increase by 6.24% to the ATH level. According to the latest data, the estimated difficulty after the change will be around 25.89 trillion.

While hashrate has reached ATHs on networks like , Ethereum, and Monero, Litecoin failed to establish a new ATH. LTC’s hashrate is currently hovering around 368.96 TH/s. In the first week of July 2019, the LTC network had a hashrate that reached ATH at 468.50 TH/s.

Currently, Dash has a hashrate of around 5.24 PH/s, but in September 2020 the network reached 7.14 PH/s. Overall, Dash’s hashrate has dropped by 26.61% in 16 months.

The Ethereum Classic network had an overall hashrate of 20.37 TH/s on Jan. 17, lower than the ATH in June 2021 which was over 23 TH/s.
