The play-to-earn (P2E) boom is one of the top stories of 2021 as games like Axie Infinity rise in popularity and players realize they can earn revenue while playing.

According to data from Footprint Analytics, Ethereum is still the leading network when it comes to the number of games released on-chain, but high fees and ongoing network congestion have pushed the number of players onto Layer-2, Cross networks -Chains support, bridges and competing blockchains offer lower transaction costs.

Here are some non-Ethereum blockchain networks that are gaining traction for their P2E services and some games that are attracting large numbers of users.

Harmony

Follow Data by Footprint Analytics is the most active blockchain network in terms of daily volume Harmony, a protocol that uses decentralized stochastic state to scale the network and facilitate the creation and use of applications.

As can be seen in the image above, the average daily transaction of the Harmony network is $22.26 million, almost double the second place is taken by Axie Infinity’s sidechain, Ronin, with $14 million.

The most popular game on Harmony is DeFi Kingdoms, a project that combines the DeFi world with P2E and NFT games to offer a unique gaming experience.

Much like Axie Infinity’s dominance on Ronin, DeFi Kingdoms is currently the main gaming option on Harmony, but the protocol’s ability to handle the heavy demands games place on the network could help attract other projects in the future.

Polygon

Polygon is another top pick for fans of P2E gaming and its Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, currently handling an average daily volume of $10.35 million.

According to data from DappRadar, the most popular game on Polygon Network is Pegaxy, a free-to-play horse racing game that pits users against mythical creatures named Pega in player-versus-player races.

Some other popular games on Polygon Network are DeFi focused NFT game Aavegotchi, Gamees Arc8 and Revv Racing.

Binance SmartChain

Gaming activity on Polygon is closely tracked by the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), which has a current daily trading volume of $7.26 million traded within its gaming community.

Follow Data Powered by DappRadar, some of the most popular games on BSC include Elfin Kingdom, Bomb Crypto, Metaverse Miner, Alien Worlds and Mobox: NFT Farmer.

Mobox: NFT Farmer is a game that could soon see a significant increase in reach and demand as the latest data is yet to feed into the analytical average, suggesting that the game’s trading volume has increased from $439,500 on February 7th to $47 $.16 million rose February 8th.

Growing networks and top rated games by users

The volume of gaming activity on other popular blockchain networks has declined significantly, but there are a number of communities keen to garner attention.

Algorand and Solana are two of the most popular emerging projects, they currently have an average daily transaction volume of $138,095 and $98,099, respectively.

It should also be noted that while the network is only transacting the current average daily volume of $38,424, but Data by Footprint Analytics shows that Wax has the second largest community of gamers and the protocol is fifth in terms of the number of games published on the network.

When it comes to the games players enjoy the most regardless of what network they are on, network-based Hive card game Splinterlands has consistently topped the field, followed by Wax-based Farmers World and Upland-based Upland EOS .
