Cardano is getting closer to the historical update for Plutus

Cardano is currently the largest Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network and is on the verge of better transaction capacity. With the new upgrade, Plutus scripts can use more computing resources of the network.

Cardano

Plutus storage unit limit reaches 56 million every block on 14.2

According to the official announcement from Input Output Global, the software development studio behind ADA blockchain solutions, the network’s critical performance boost has entered its final phase. input output tweets:

“Parameter Update: Today we started recommending an update to increase the memory unit per block limit for Plutus scripts on the ADA mainnet. This change will come into effect at the boundary of epoch (epoch) 321 at 04:44:51 on February 15 (Synthetic Team Time).

Starting from epoch 321, scheduled for February 15 at 04:44, any Plutus script (a Cardano-specific software program) will be able to mine 14 million storage units per ADA block instead of 12.5 million.

So, with ADA’s total CPU capacity of 56 million memory units per block, it will support dApps running 4 Plutus instructions simultaneously.

Once the update is rolled out and activated, the IOG team will closely monitor the performance of the network for the entire next epoch (nearly 5 days).

What’s next for Cardano?

If these developments are not enough, IOG developers will consider further near-term evolutions of their design.

The upcoming upgrade is part of Cardano’s transition to Basho, a highly anticipated phase of massive scaling improvements.

In the post-basho era, users can use Cardano for complex B2B cases as its transaction bandwidth will be much higher than its competitors.
