Subsquid Now Partners with Astar Network to Maximize On-Chain Data Management

Subsquid Partners with Astar Network

The partnership enables the dApps projects on Astar to use Subsquid for managing raw on-chain data while vastly reducing the complexity of fetching and transforming blockchain data.

Astar Network is a multichain smart contract hub where all chains and all tokens will be available in a single network. It enabled EVM on 17th Jan 2022 and remarked more than $500M TVL, the largest TVL among the Polkadot Smart Contract protocols. For Astar ecosystem’s further growth, the core team of Astar Network has been actively supporting the dApps projects on Astar as they announced Astar Boost Program a week ago.

Through this ecosystem growth and expansion, it is obvious that there is a need to process and query a growing amount of data on the blockchain with faster load times while not compromising the focus on the accuracy of data. Subsquid is the perfect solution to such an issue as its multi-layered architecture, composed of Archive(s) and Squid(s) enables speedy and precise access to data spread across Astar Network.

Subsquid is rapidly deploying Archives to gather data from available blockchains and Astar Network is no exception. Subsquid Archive is already running and constantly ingesting and decoding data on Astar Network for much easier data access to developers.

In order to access Astar / Shiden with Subsquid, you would have to take a squid template and customize it to tap the right Archive (in this case Astar and Shiden), modify the schema, create entities, and so on. For more details on how to get started with using SubSquid to query Astar and Shiden, please refer to the tutorials here.

About Subsquid

Subsquid is a GraphQL API provider and on-chain data aggregator. Its unique two-tier approach provides developers with rapidly decreasing data retrieval times and boosts API reliability, while its high level of customizability makes it the ideal query protocol for substrate projects of any type and scale.

About Astar

Astar Network is a dApp hub on Polkadot that supports Ethereum, WebAssembly, and layer 2 solutions like ZK Rollups. Astar aims to be a multi-chain smart contract platform that will support multiple blockchains and virtual machines. Polkadot Relay Chain doesn’t support smart contracts. That’s why it’s important for the ecosystem to have a parachain that enables this for all developers who want to build in the Polkadot ecosystem. Astar is here to provide the best solution for all developers by supporting EVM and making a parachain where EVM and WASM smart contracts can co-exist and communicate with each other.
