Snoop Dogg Now Plans To Turn ‘Death Row Records’ Into The World’s 1st NFT Music Label!

Snoop Dogg Creates World’s 1st NFT Music Label

Famous rapper Snoop Dogg revealed plans to turn Death Row Records into an NFT music label in a Clubhouse call on Tuesday, less than a week after acquiring the label.

“Death Row will be an NFT label,” Snoop said in the Clubhouse call, “We will be putting out artists through the metaverse…Just like we broke the industry when we were the first independent to be major, we want to be the first major in the metaverse.”

Snoop Dogg is well-versed in the blockchain space. In September, he stated that he began a personal NFT collection worth more than $17 million under the name ‘Cozomo de’ Medici’, though this claim was never confirmed.

In March 2021, Snoop Dogg also released his own collection, which included an original track called “NFT” and “Snoop Dogge Coins.” On April, he announced a collaboration with the digital artist behind the Nyan Cat meme to release a “Nyan Dogg” NFT. In November, he minted a rate NFT worth nearly $750,000.

On February 9, 2022, the rapper also released a non-fungible token collection with Gala Games to mark the start of his new album, “Bacc on Death Row.” The “Stash Box” NFTs have already sold over $50 million, with holders receiving an NFT of one of the album’s songs.

“If anything is constant, it’s that the music industry will always be changing,” Snoop said when he released his new album. “Blockchain tech has the power to change everything again and tip the table in favor of the artists and the fans, and we’re going to be right at the front of the pack.”
