Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Affirms His Support for Ukraine after Russia’s Military Actions on February 24

Vitalik asserts his stance

Vitalik Buterin is a Russian-Canadian citizen but he stated to support Ukraine during the recent conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

He tweeted a few minutes after the military actions of Russia in Ukraine:

“Very upset by Putin’s decision to abandon the possibility of a peaceful solution to the dispute with Ukraine and go to war instead. This is a crime against the Ukrainian and Russian people. I want to wish everyone security, although I know that there will be no security. Glory to Ukraine.”

He also reminded the crypto community that Ethereum is just a blockchain platform, it is neutral, but he is not.

Russia has launched “a full-scale invasion” in Ukraine, according to the most recent news reports. Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the country will defend itself from Putin’s “war of aggression.”

Explosions were heard in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv and the eastern port city of Mariupol, shortly after Russia announced an operation to “demilitarise” the country, said news agency AFP.

AFP correspondents in both cities heard powerful blasts and in Mariupol residents report hearing artillery fire. The Spectator Index shared a video from Mariupol confirming this.

“I have made the decision of a military operation,” Russian President Putin said in a surprise statement on television shortly before 6 am (03:00 GMT).

Putin stated that the action was taken in response to threats from Ukraine. He went on to say that Russia has no intention of occupying Ukraine. Putin claimed that the Ukrainian “regime” is to blame for the bloodshed.

Any attempt by other countries to interfere with Russia’s actions would result in “consequences they have never seen,” Putin warned.

Bitcoin Is Dropping Rapidly

As a result of bitcoin holders’ fear following President Putin’s announcement, the price of Bitcoin dropped rapidly to $34,500, and it will continue dropping. Crypto investors now tend to keep USDT in their wallets to wait patiently for the result of each Russia-Ukraine battleground decision.

Before that, many financial experts have predicted that if the current situation continues, Bitcoin price will fall below $30,000. And perhaps in a few days, this prediction will come true.
