Concept project – What is Basketballverse?

Basketballverse is a P2E 3D multiplayer basketball metaverse that joins billions of basketball enthusiasts in a community where you can develop your NFT basketball avatar, manage your own club or arena, build a fanbase, attract sponsorships and earn real income.

The blockchain-based P2E (play-to-earn) gaming model offers a wide-open economy and financial rewards to every player in the gaming ecosystem. With more control of in-game assets and more choices in how to play, gamers can fully embody and appreciate their favourite games while earning through cryptocurrency and NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

Basketballverse aims to capitalize on this new gaming landscape by bringing a blockchain-based basketball experience to the metaverse, combining play-to-earn functionality with NFT collection. It will empower millions of enthusiasts to start professional metaverse basketball careers as players, club managers or arena owners while earning actual income.

Games

Ballers can compete in 1:1, 3:3 or 5:5 games. For 3:3 or 5:5 games, it’s necessary to be a part of a club. Club managers recruit ballers or offer a deal to join the club. The deal could be a combination of the following:

  • Salary
  • Exclusive merchandise
  • A share of generated club revenue
  • Entry fees paid by the club

Ballers can also play free for fun with friends using the option to create a friends-only/invite-only tournament. It is also possible to fix a paid buy-in.

Game consistency

Ballers need to be consistent in playing games or skill rates decrease. It’s better to sell the avatar while still at its peak or rent it for a revenue share, if unable to play.

Consumables and loot

Games will offer consumable items to help the baller recover faster, get a temporary morale boost, etc and every consumable is highly brandable (i.e. the recovery drink could be Gatorade). Loot boxes offer tiny rewards to be popular but without throwing the game economy out of balance.

Playing the game

Ballers will have to be online for every match, as this is a multiplayer game. The club owner will be able to select which players are going to play for the next match, but the rest of the roster should also be present to substitute selected players who don’t show up. Every winning player online during the match will be rewarded with $BVR tokens. Those who actually played will be rewarded with a larger amount, while those on the roster who didn’t play will receive a smaller amount.

Token use case

$BVR is mainly an in-game currency and can be utilized in many ways:

  • Internal game currency

Using this token, it’s possible to purchase ballers, merchandise, arena/club ownership, pay for practice, and much more. The baller is the entrance asset to compete in games, while NFT merchandise makes the baller look unique and stylish.

  • Early-access rewards

As BaskerballVerse’s early adopters, players will receive unique and limited edition NFT merchandise. Its value is projected to grow over time due to a limited amount and as the game becomes increasingly popular.

  • Sponsorship and salary payments for players

Playing in Basketballverse can become incredibly profitable. However, the game is designed in such a way that participants must be consistently active. Players and teams might receive sponsorship or salary deals, which will have to be paid with $BVR currency.

  • Token staking

People will be able to stake $BVR to provide liquidity and earn rewards for it.

  • Governance

Each Basketballverse community member will be able to contribute to the game’s growth direction by voting for or against upcoming gameplay features. Those who hold more tokens can have a greater impact on voting.
