Ukraine has Gained Over $13M Crypto Donations in Just a Few Days

Ukraine Has Gained $13M

The value of cryptocurrency donations to help Ukraine fight Russia has reached a new high of $13 million.

Ukraine has received 1,349 Ethereum (ETH), 204 Bitcoin (BTC), and various amounts in Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) as cryptocurrency donations.

TRON’s founder, Justin Sun, said he was “glad to announce” a $200,000 USDT donation.

According to the latest estimates from blockchain analytics firm Elliptic, the Ukrainian government, NGOs, and volunteer organizations have received nearly $14 million in cryptocurrencies in the last few days.

The average donation is $95, but one anonymous recently sent $3 million in Bitcoin.

Ukraine announced that the country will accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT on Saturday.

“To those who want to help in bitcoin. Bitcoin is officially legit in Ukraine — just like this account and this retweet. Don’t mind the comments of our Russian ‘brothers,’” Olexander Scherba, a longtime Ukrainian diplomat, tweeted Saturday.

Ukraine apparently deleted its first post announcing the country would take crypto. “Stand with the people of Ukraine as we defend ourselves against Russian aggression,” the now-deleted tweet read. Its second post simply reads: “Stand with the people of Ukraine.” A few minutes later, Ukraine tweeted, “Sorry the team is exhausted without sleep, we make mistakes in tweets & tweet them again.”
