Ukraine government fund has raised nearly $19M
Since the invasion began, the Ukrainian government and NGOs have received a total of $18.9 million in crypto donations. Furthermore, a single $3 million Bitcoin donation was made to one NGO.
Tom Robinson, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder of blockchain analytics firm Elliptic, has announced that “someone donated $1 million to the Ukraine government, in a single Bitcoin transaction” last night.
TRON DAO’s founder, Justin Sun, said he was “glad to announce” a $200,000 USDT donation. The average donation is $95, but one anonymous recently sent $3 million in Bitcoin.
Ukraine announced that the country will accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT on Saturday.
“To those who want to help in bitcoin. Bitcoin is officially legit in Ukraine — just like this account and this retweet. Don’t mind the comments of our Russian ‘brothers,’” Olexander Scherba, a longtime Ukrainian diplomat, tweeted Saturday.
Meanwhile, an Ukraine DAO has also established on February 25 by pussy riot and Trippy Labs. They said their goal is “to raise funds to donate to Ukrainian civilian organizations who help those suffering from the war that Putin started in Ukraine,” and they will buy a Ukrainian flag or an NFT to support this nation.
Now they have raised a total of $4 million.
