Liverpool will drop its new NFT collection, partnering with renowned auction house Sotheby’s

Liverpool takes a step into the NFT space

Liverpool has teamed up with renowned auction house Sotheby’s, which has become a market leader in digital artwork and NFTs, as well as Liverpool kit provider Nike for the ‘LFC Heroes’ Club collection.

LFC Heroes Club will be divided into two categories. The first is “Hero” NFTs with Match Mode, Fresh Mode, and Super Mode features, with a purchase price of $75/NFT. In addition, there will be 24 “Legendary” NFTs representing the 24 players playing in Liverpool’s main squad. These NFTs will all be auctioned on Sotheby’s on March 30.

The launch will also benefit the LFC Foundation’s community, such as education and employment programs, inclusion and special educational needs, and disability support.

Half of Liverpool’s proceeds from the ‘Legendary’ 1 of 1 auction will go to supporting the LFC Foundation, with an additional 10 per cent from the Reds’ limited edition ‘Hero’ sale and 10% of all future resale royalties also going to the Foundation.

The Reds also claim that their NFTs are created on the Polygon platform, the blockchain with the lowest environmental impact in the cryptocurrency industry. Creating an NFT on Polygon only causes the same greenhouse gas emissions as sending 2.5 emails, 10 times less than Ethereum.
