MAC Cosmetics Releases its First NFTs on Polygon to Help HIV/AIDS Youngsters

Mac Cosmetics’s first NFT collection will be available soon

To support America’s National Youth HIV/Aids Awareness Day on 10 April, MAC Cosmetics is partnering with ConsenSys to release its first NFTs on the Polygon. These NFTs use art by the late Keith Haring. There are 5,275 NFTs in the collection, divided into three kinds with varying prices and rarity.

The Keith Haring red NFTs will cost $25 each, with a limited edition of 5,000 available. The blue NFTs will cost $150 each, with just 250 available. The yellow NFTs will cost $1,000 apiece, with just 25 available. Using assets licensed by the Keith Haring Foundation, all three are animated illustrations that combine Haring’s visual style with MAC lipsticks.

Keith Haring was an American artist who rose to prominence in the 1980s as part of New York’s graffiti art subculture. In 1987, after being diagnosed with HIV, he began making art to raise awareness about the disease. In 1990, he passed away.

The NFT collection will be available on the NFT marketplace Opensea from 10 April to 1 June. The Mac Viva Glam Fund will collect the whole purchase price from the Viva Glam x Keith Haring NFT collection’s primary sales to support young people affected by HIV and Aids. The Keith Haring Foundation will get 2.5% of the purchase price from secondary sales on Opensea until next January.
