Animoca Brands Has Joined The Hockenheimring Racetrack
On the blockchain, a unicorn Animoca Brands has licensed the Hockenheimring racetrack in Baden-Württemberg for use in its REVV Motorsport ecosystem of play-to-earn racing games.
Animoca Brands will manufacture and sell non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that represent partial ownership of the virtual Hockenheimring racetrack, according to a press statement.
Through entry fees, sponsorships, and events, NFT holders can gain a share of the virtual racetrack’s revenue.
REVV Racing, Formula E: High Voltage, and Torque Drift 2 are all part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, which is fueled by the REVV token.
Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands received $358 million earlier this year, bringing its total valuation to $5 billion.
Animoca Brands is expected to release a series of blockchain-based racing games
The F1 German Grand Prix, the FIA GT Championship, the German Motorcycle Grand Prix, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, NitrOlympX, and the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters have all been held at the Hockenheimring since 1932. Over the course of its 4.574 km length, the Hockenheimring contains six left bends, 11 right turns, and six straights. Every year, nearly 700,000 people visit the racetrack, which has 120,000 spectator seats.
In Animoca Brands’ REVV Motorsport blockchain games, the EVV token is the primary money for utility, purchase, and activity. REVV is a racing game metaverse that aims to give players complete digital ownership of their in-game NFT assets.
