Terra Has A ‘Kill Switch’? CEO Do Kwon Revealed It In An Interview From 2021

Terra Has A ‘Kill Switch’?

Two old videos of Terra creator Do Kwon discussing the controversial ‘Kill Switch’ have emerged on Twitter. In the videos, Do Kwon has mentioned something called “Protocol Armageddon,” and he described it as a “Kill Switch.” He indicated that the project team may “pull the trigger and we’re gone in 24 hours.”

“We burn all our assets, we cut all our ties, and it’s (Terra) nothing,” he continues.

In the old recovered video from 2021 regarding the ‘Kill Switch’ and ‘Protocol Armageddon,’ Do Kwon said the following:

“We have sort of a… something called Protocol Armageddon at the company. So what Protocol Armageddon is, is that it’s a Kill Switch. So whenever we feel like we’re no longer in a position to be able to best serve the community, we pull the trigger and in 24-hours we’re gone. We burn all of our assets, we cut all of our ties, and it’s nothing. So that’s just in case things move a little bit faster than we’re anticipating.”

Do Kwon said in another video from the same interview that Terra will finally go to zero.

“It’s a cycle of life. You begin from nothing and go back to nothing. That’s exactly where I want to be. So I think Terra’s going to be a decentralized money standard across the entire blockchain, across all of the blockchains. And I’m excited for Terraform Labs to contribute a significant portion of that early vision, but eventually to go back to nothing.” He is also heard saying that going back to nothing is “Exciting”,” he said.

Do Kwon attempted to destroy Terra’s Korean entity only days before TerraUST and LUNA collapsed to zero.

However, Kwon issued a statement claiming that the company’s Korean entity’s death was purely accidental. The crash had nothing to do with it, he said, but the timing was coincidental.

LUNA is trading at $0.000188 at the time of writing, up roughly 16% in the previous 24 hours.
