Binance is Brasileirão’s new proprietary crypto sponsor

Binance, the world’s leading provider of blockchain and crypto infrastructure, is the new exclusive crypto sponsor for Brasileirão Assaí, Brasileirão Female Neoenergia, Brasileirão Female A-2 and Brasileirão Female A-3, four elite football tournaments hosted by Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF).

Over the next three years, the partnership will aim to link Binance’s brand to these tournaments, in addition to Fan-token development plans – digital assets that provide interoperability, benefits – and NFT, among other projects.

“The industry has constantly been changing in the digital and technology ecosystem. The fans of the Football Nation participated in the world of Fan-token and NFT. In this case, it was a great and creative step to have these competitions [Brasileirão Assaí, Women’s Brasileirão Neoenergia, Women’s Brasileirão A-2, and Women’s Brasileirão A-3] linked to Binance, a global giant in this market. This is a strategic partnership for us to understand the profile of Brazilian football fans better and help them fully connect with these competitions.”, CBF’s Marketing and Commercial Director Lorenzo Perales said.

“Sport is an important driver of social inclusion. Because football is closely linked to Brazilian identity and culture, our partnership with CBF is critical to help expand cryptocurrency adoption and create a positive impact for users, the crypto and blockchain communities, and the entire Brazilian society.” Changpeng Zhao, CEO and Founder of Binance said.

Focusing on the development of the Brazilian market, Binance announced in March that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding expressing its interest in the acquisition of Simpaul Investimentos, a Brazilian exchange authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil and the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM). Notwithstanding the above, the successful conclusion of the transaction requires the approval of regulatory authorities, including the Central Bank of Brazil.

In Brazilian sport, the company has sponsored Paulistão Sicredi and Santos Futebol Clube. Binance also supported the international sport, sponsoring the African Cup, the continent’s biggest football event, and the European teams Porto (Portugal) and Lazio (Italy) and collaborating with Alpine, an F-1 team.

Objectives of the competition

Brasileirão Assaí consists of 20 clubs representing the contemporary elite in the country’s men’s football.

For Brasileirão, Female Neoenergia is in Serie A of the Brazilian Women’s Championship, with 16 clubs – the same number of clubs participating with Brasileirão Female A-2, Serie B. Meanwhile, about Brasileirão Female A-3, the first tournament edition will be this year and will be attended by 32 teams.
