Crypto Payments Company TripleA Has Raised $4M Funding Led By Razer’s Venture Arm zVentures
TripleA has closed its first round of funding, which was led by Razer’s corporate venture arm, zVentures.
Today, TripleA, a Crypto Payments Company, revealed that it has received $4 million in financing from Razer’s corporate ventures arm, zVentures, a major worldwide lifestyle brand for gamers. TripleA is the first cryptocurrency payments company to be granted a Digital Payment Token license by the Singapore Monetary Authority (MAS). This enables the company to provide businesses with end-to-end cryptocurrency payment services that are compliant with international regulatory standards.
This strategic investor alliance with zVentures, according to Eric Barbier, founder and CEO of TripleA, delivers experience, connections, and consultancy in the games industry to TripleA, a vital vertical for crypto payments.
There is a huge opportunity for crypto to become more involved with the game business right now. According to a World Asset eXchange poll, 80 percent of gamers are interested in adopting cryptocurrencies to undertake gaming transactions.
“Through zVentures, we are always on the lookout for market-leading, early-stage companies such as TripleA, to nurture and support them,” said Li Meng Lee, Chief Strategy Officer at Razer. “TripleA is a clear leader in crypto payments, an area of interest and relevance to us in the gaming space. We look forward to this strategic partnership with them, accelerating their growth and adoption by leveraging on our existing ecosystem of hardware, software and services.”
Eric Barbier, a seasoned FinTech entrepreneur with a track record of launching successful payments businesses, established TripleA. In 1999, he co-founded Mobile 365, a mobile messaging center with more than 400 million subscribers. Sybase (now SAP) paid $425 million for it. In 2006, he launched TransferTo (now Thunes and DTone) with the vision of making money transfers as simple as sending a text message. Thunes has raised over $60 million and is currently the world’s largest payment network for mobile wallets. Thunes supports 60+ currencies, allows payments to be made in 110+ countries, and helps companies accept 285+ payment methods thanks to its network of partners, which includes Paypal and M-Pesa.
