Ripple Announces New Partnership to Build an Open Metaverse
Ripple has announced the introduction of the Root Network in collaboration with FLUF World-Metaverse, a global creative community and NFT collectibles ecosystem.
The network will be used to bring “The Open Metaverse” to life, which will combine numerous NFT collections with over 195,000 unique products and over 340,000 transactions.
Worlds that work together
According to the developers of “The Open Metaverse,” they felt that there was no better foundation for developing such a complicated system than the XRP Ledger, therefore they chose to create the Root Network on that blockchain.
It has been revealed that “The Open Metaverse” will be smooth and interoperable
According to the details revealed thus far. The metaworld, according to the project’s official website, is based on two primary principles:
- Creating an immersive experience that touches on the notion of a virtual world that is seamless.
- Ownership of assets by users, including complete control over in-game things and the ability of player-owners to act on them as they see fit.
FLUF World developers explained that the need for a separate network for the future Metaverse stemmed from a desire to provide every creator with access to standard smart contract functionality without having to write or implement contracts themselves, noting that code written for the Ethereum blockchain can run on the Root Network via the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
Bridges to the XRPL and ETH networks will be supported by the Root Network, allowing them to connect to the two largest web3 communities. It’s also worth noting that on The Root Network’s multi-token network, XRP was chosen as the underlying asset to pay for gas.
