The world’s first Satoshi Nakamoto statue was erected in Hungary
After 3 months of preparation, the world’s first physical statue of the Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto was set up in a technology park in the Hungarian capital Budapest.
The bronze statue shows a hooded person with a mask, the Bitcoin symbol is hung on the left chest, right next to the heart, this is supposed to highlight the secret of Satoshi Nakamoto.
The statue’s expressionless face has a mirror-like reflective surface as it is made of gold-plated aluminum. By allowing people to see their own reflections, the sculptors wanted to convey a message: “We are all Satoshi Nakamoto.”

The unveiling of the statue was attended by many people.
The statue was created by the Hungarian crypto journalist András Györfi. In an interview with Hungarian Today, he suggested that the real identity of the Bitcoin creator doesn’t matter much.
The project is organized by 4 organizations, including Mr. Coin, Crypto Academy, Blockchain Hungary Association and Blockchain Budapest sponsored.
The Satoshi statue was erected in the Graphisoft Technology Park. There is also a statue of Apple founder Steve Jobs. The statue was commissioned by Graphisoft to commemorate Jobs. Graphisoft is a Hungarian software company that Jobs invested in when it was founded in the mid-1980s.
This isn’t the first public building created to celebrate cryptoculture. In 2018, the Slovenian city of Kraj announced a bitcoin construction in the center of a roundabout near the city’s courthouse.
The construction consists of a horizontal seven meter wide steel ring with the Bitcoin symbol in the middle. The project is funded by the Luxembourg Stock Exchange Bitstamp and the blockchain software company 3fs.
In 2018, a virtual Satoshi Nakamoto memorial was also presented in Kiev, Ukraine.
