San Marino approves globally verifiable VeChain eNFT vaccination certificate
The Republic of San Marino has approved VeChain’s NFT-based vaccination record, which is said to be verifiable worldwide.
The small European country with a little over 33,000 inhabitants today announced the adoption of the “Decree Law No. 109 of June 16”, which enables the introduction of vaccination records with the name “Certificate of only San Marino Digital Covid”.
The partnership includes a partnership with DNV – which will digitally secure the project.
The vaccination record contains records of past infections, negative test results and also offers a digital vaccination record.
Digital vaccination certificates are issued upon request by facilities approved by the San Marino Health Authority. It is recorded on the VeChainThor public blockchain by linking a company’s inedible token (eNFT) to a person’s Covid-related medical history.
The certificate contains two QR codes that can be scanned to access a person’s Covid-related medical history.
Code First meets the requirements and standards of the European Union and can be verified by member states and approved organizations.
The second QR can be scanned by “anyone anywhere” outside the European Union and directs the user to a web-based application where a blockchain-based eNFT certificate can be verified.
VeChain claims on Twitter that this is “the first national launch of eNFt”.

Renato Grottola, Global Director of Development and Innovation at DNV, said: “VeChain’s use of blockchain technology, and NFTs in particular, increases trust in the authenticity of information and reduces the risk of identity theft.
This is not the first time VeChain has offered blockchain-based solutions to respond to a global pandemic. Cointelegraph reported on Jan. 6 that Vechain has partnered with Cyprus Mediterranean Hospital to store vaccination records on its blockchain.

2 QR codes. First, in line with EU standard / green certificate. The second QR code is an integrated NFT to connect countries and ensure the interoperability, integrity and validity of the data. Along @DNV_Assurance We think differently, we think big. $ VET #VeChain https://t.co/dzlPPO4Boi
