BTC Greenidge miners reportedly threatened environmental activists
BTC miner Greenidge has reportedly threatened Abi Buddington and New York environmentalists Yvonne Taylor. In our current crypto news we read more about it today.
Environmental activists are said to have been threatened by Greenidge Generation CEO Dale Irwin, and the news comes after a long and drawn-out argument between BTC mining company Greenidge and the activists’ motion. The miner is a New York company and was laid off for allegedly damaging the environment around its mining facilities.

Now two local activists, Yvonne Taylor and Abi Buddington, claim to have received threatening letters from Dale Irwin, the company’s CEO. Taylor, vice president of the NGO Seneca Lake Guardian, said:
“Despite the fact that this is extremely worrying, I am concerned about my safety, I am concerned about the safety of my family. I feel on the right side and have the right to freedom of expression under the first amendment to the constitution. ”
Responding to the activists’ allegations, Green shared a statement:
“Calling our critics’ attention to their own repeated false and misleading public statements is an interesting strategy. It’s also ironic that the people today who say they are concerned about the possibility of litigation are the same people who are currently suing Greenidge and the small town of Torrey. The Seneca Lake Guardian and others had also previously sued New York State over Greenidge and lost the case in court. Greenidge is not pursuing a lawsuit against anyone, and as these letters make it clear, the point is not to prevent someone from sharing their location. ”
Buddington received her letter on October 7thNS where Greenidge mentioned a September 8 tweetNS:
“On September 8th, you posted the following announcement on Twitter. It is the latest in your continued false public statements about Greenidge and our Dresden operations. “
Irwin added:
“Out of respect for the many good people who work at Greenidge and live with their families across the Finger Lakes, we ask that you not make intentionally misleading statements about the company, our and the company’s legitimate business. If this continues, we will examine what legal remedies are available to our company. “
As for the letters, Taylor says the letters speak for themselves, and it would be a bad thing for Greenidge to say that this is not intended to prevent someone from sharing their location. She added that October is National Bullying Prevention Month and asked Irwin to withdraw her letters and not harass those who have concerns about the facility’s environmental impact.
