A federal grand jury in southern Florida has decided that Dr. Craig Wright, a self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto, who was a defendant in Wright vs. Kleiman and was not responsible for violating his partnership with the late computer scientist Dave Kleiman, clears him on all counts.

The jury also awarded $ 100 million in damages to W&K Info Defense, the company that mined the mysterious 1.1 million bitcoins at the center of the dispute. Wright has been found to be responsible for conversion, an act of exercising control over property that belongs to another.

The defense wins on all claims except conversion. The jury awarded W&K Info Defense an award of $ 100 million above that number. No punitive damage.

The test is intended to clarify the fate of the huge Bitcoin vault over which the Australian computer scientist claims to be in control.

The owner of nChain was brought to court by plaintiff Ira Kleiman, who represents Immobilien and W&K Info Defense. His brother Dave Kleiman worked at the Australian businessman’s side before he passed away in 2013.

Wright is charged with defrauding his business partner from the Kleiman estate. The plaintiff is demanding a 50% split of Wright’s alleged Bitcoin assets as well as its intellectual property.

Stephen D. Palley, an associate of the Washington law firm Anderson Kill, commented that the jury’s verdict was not in Wright’s favor.
