Ukraine Joins Together With FTX And Everstake To Launch A New Cryptocurrency Donation Website.

On Monday, Ukraine government opened a new cryptocurrency donation website, simplifying its multimillion-dollar campaign to convert bitcoin into ammunition, bandages, and other military supplies.

Everstake’s Head of Growth Vlad Likhuta said that “Aid for Ukraine,” which is supported by crypto exchange FTX, staking platform Everstake, and Ukraine’s Kuna exchange, will route contributed cryptocurrency to the National Bank. The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine is also participating.

According to the website, the country’s combined efforts have already generated around $48 million in bitcoin (BTC), DOT, ether (ETH), SOL, tether (USDT), and other cryptocurrencies. Other estimates put the figure closer to $100 million, although totals vary depending on market movements and which websites are included.

The presence of Everstake allows the website to accept additional cryptocurrencies.

According to the website, the central bank is utilizing donations to assist “humanitarian aid programs” as well as the country’s military forces. The website read:

“The people will continue their fight for freedom, but they need more ammunition and necessities,”

Oleksandr Bornyakov, an official at the digital ministry, said in a statement:

“Crypto assets proved extremely helpful in facilitation of funding flows to Ukrainian citizens and soldiers, as well as in raising awareness and engaging people worldwide,”

He mentioned that an impending NFT collection “will give the crypto fundraising process the next boost.”
