Coinbase Wallet now accepts Solana Tokens and NFTs.

Coinbase Wallet just added support for the Solana (SOL) ecosystem and it also plans to further support NFTs and DApps in the near future. The self-custody wallet provided the ecosystem with its initial wave of support by allowing users to send, receive, and store SOL and SPL tokens via its browser extension. According to the platform, this first phase “allows users to unlock more of web3 without having to manage numerous wallets.

“Users can now manage their Solana (SOL) and Solana tokens (SPL) alongside their tokens held on all of Coinbase Wallet extension’s supported networks, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, BNB Chain, and many more.”

According to the platform, Solana has exploded and “developed a thriving community of both developers and consumers along the way” throughout the continuous growth of everything linked to web3, decentralized applications, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi). The network needs assistance because it has been stomping on Ethereum’s heels, attempting to achieve a similar or greater level of popularity.

“This launch is just the beginning.”- Coinbase Wallet said. The platform intends to offer further Solana-related services, such as “the ability for users to connect to Solana dapps, as well as the ability to monitor and manage their Solana NFTs right within their Coinbase Wallet extension.

Users of Solana had to “keep track of their assets across multiple surfaces,” but the Coinbase Wallet plugin now provides an easy solution by storing all SOL, SPL tokens, and EVM-compatible assets in one spot. They went on to say that importing an existing Solana wallet into the Coinbase wallet is simple. Moreover, The SOL and SPL tokens can only be seen from the Coinbase Wallet extension, not the mobile app
