What is Elk Finance (ELK)?

Elk Finance is a decentralized network that aims to facilitate cross-chain liquidity, enabling secure and trustless value transfer across chains such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Matic, and Avalanche. With Elk Finance, users can easily exchange tokens across different chains with fast transactions, anytime and anywhere.

The native token of Elk Finance is called ELK, which has multiple uses including value transfer across chains, payment of exchange fees, and governance voting for resource allocation.

ELK Token Circulation

The Elk Finance Protocol was initially launched on Avalanche on March 19, 2021, and subsequently on another chain on April 10, 2021. The full mainnet launch is anticipated to occur in Q4, 2021, with additional chains to be introduced in Q2, 2021. The total supply of ELK tokens is capped at 42,424,242. Over a span of 4 years, 10 million tokens will be distributed through yield farming. Furthermore, 10 million tokens are allocated to the Elk insurance fund, which provides protection against impermanent loss. The remaining tokens are assigned to a community fund (20 million), the team (2 million), and airdrops.
