The Polygon Avail Testnet Has Moved To The Next Round Of Onboarding 100 New Validators
Polygon Avail, a modular blockchain designed to scale other blockchains, has completed the first phase of its testnet rollout, marking an important step toward a mature, stable, and secure mainnet release expected next year.
Following the introduction of the testnet in late June, the team deployed a small group of fully-operated Polygon validators to demonstrate that the system is completely operational and that external parties can begin testing the platform immediately without first setting up a devnet. They have since added ten external validators.
Polygon intends to add up to 100 additional external validators in Phase 2 to build a more robust and mature blockchain testing environment. Prospective validators can fill out an application form.
Polygon Avail works by saving transaction data from any other blockchain and proving that it is available. Because it is optimized to fulfill only this purpose, it can support the data availability needs of hundreds of blockchains at the same time. This makes Avail an important component of Ethereum’s roll-up-centric future, which will be at the vanguard of onboarding the next 1 billion Web3 users.
