Puma Changed its Name to Puma.ETH, Invested in some Cat-Inspired NFT Collections

PUMA.eth Marks The Brand’s New Future

Puma, a well-known sportswear brand, had changed their Twitter name to Puma.ETH on February 21. The major brand has purchased an ENS domain, signed its first step into the Web3/NFT space.

After the change, PUMA.eth became one of the 100 most-followed Twitter accounts, peaked the number 13. Parishilton.eth, owned by celebrity Paris Hilton, is in the first place, followed by shaq.eth, owned by former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal.

Budweiser, which purchased Beer.eth for 30 ETH through ENS on OpenSea last year, is another major company with.ETH domains. ENS’ former director of operations even tweeted about his excitement when the fast-food chain White Castle registered whitecastleofficial.eth.

The ability to receive any cryptocurrency, token, or blockchain-based asset, as well as point to a decentralized website and store profile information such as an avatar, email address, or Twitter handle, are just a few of the advantages of an ENS name.

PUMA.eth is one of several recent NFT-related moves by the company. Puma has invested in various NFT collections, including Cool Cats NFT, Lazy Lions, Gutter Cat Gang, and CatBlox.

Unstoppable Domains, ENS’ competitor, has over 2 million domains registered, according to its website, and it recently launched Login, a single-sign-on service for Ethereum and Polygon. Web 3 users are increasingly using decentralized URLs for digital identities as more DApps, wallets, exchanges, and marketplaces support NFT usernames.
