This amount comes from Rp731.4 billion deposits in 2020, Rp3.9 trillion deposits in 2021, and Rp3.5 trillion deposits in 2022.

In addition, the government has appointed 127 PMSE business actors to be VAT collectors, of which 106 of them have collected. This number increased by 8 business actors when compared to what was previously reported two months ago.

The eight business actors came from 2 appointments in July 2022 and 6 appointments in August 2022.

In addition, in July 2022, improvements were made to Meta Platforms Technologies Ireland Limited, Proxima Beta Pte Ltd, Tencent Mobility Limited, Tencent Mobile International Limited, Image Future Investment (HK) Limited, High Morale Developments Limited, Aceville Pte Ltd, and Chegg, Inc. Yesterday, Neilmaldrin Noor, the Director of Extension, Services and Public Relations in a press statement in Jakarta, explained:

“Correction of PMSE VAT collectors is carried out in the event that there are data elements in the appointment decision letter that are different or change from the actual situation or there is an error in the issuance of the decree.”

In accordance with PMK-60/PMK.03/2022, PMSE business actors who have been appointed as collectors are required to collect VAT at a rate of 11% on foreign products they sell in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Neilmaldrin reminded business actors who have been appointed as PMSE VAT collectors are required to produce proof of VAT collection on taxes that have been collected.

The evidence of collection can be in the form of a commercial invoice, billing, order receipt, or other similar documents that state the collection of VAT and payment has been made.

In the future, DGT will continue to appoint PMSE business actors who sell products and provide digital services from abroad to consumers in Indonesia and have met the criteria, namely, the value of transactions with Indonesian buyers exceeds Rp. 600 million a year or Rp. 50 million a month and/or the amount of traffic in Indonesia exceeds 12 thousand a year or a thousand in a month, to collect PMSE VAT for these activities.
