Elon Musk’s new tweet confuses SHIB and DOGE owners
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has the communities of two major crypto memes – DOGE and SHIB – asking what the eccentric billionaire has to say.
While he often tweeted about crypto-related memes (DOGE or Bitcoin in particular), this time Musk just posted the word “top” with an up arrow.

Many community members who argued for different currencies immediately asked for clarification. The most active SHIB and DOGE fans to date are wondering if Musk is hinting that DOGE/SHIB will go to the moon?

Earlier this week, Musk announced on Twitter that Tesla was finally accepting payments in DOGE. So far, Tesla’s store offers four items, including a “Cyberwhistle Limited Edition Whistle Model” inspired by the Cybertruck electric truck and a “Cyberquad for Kids.” The Cyberquad is priced at 12,020 DOGE, indicating that Tesla essentially started selling its electric vehicles with DOGE.
Billy Markus, co-founder of Dogecoin, has tweets:
“Best thing about Tesla: Accepting DOGE to pay for items priced in meme coins and not USD. One of the largest companies in the world to directly accept DOGE as currency to purchase goods.”
Many in the DOGE community are hoping that the next step will be for the company to sell electric cars paid for with meme tokens.
After yesterday’s 20% surge, DOGE price dropped from $0.199 as low as $0.1827. Currently, the top meme cryptocurrency has recovered to $0.1902.
