Mimic Shhans Creator Explains Restricting Chinese Posts
SHHAN, founder of the black cats’ nonfungible tokens (NFT) collection Mimic Shhans, revealed to users in a tweet why he was limiting postings on community social pages written in Chinese.
The decision was made after users called the new policies discriminatory. SHHAN made a Chinese post to address the topic specifically:
SHHAN indicated that the collection is quite popular in China, where the great majority of NFT holders reside. On OpenSea, the project presently has 2,001 holders and has exchanged 285 Ethereum (ETH) since its start.
However, the artist underlined his belief that the European and North American consumer markets were critical for the impending Shhan Metaverse, called Shhanverse, and expressed his hope that people switched to the more internationalized English language to communicate about the project.
SHHAN went on to say that he had previously posted in the Discord group advising that members speak English but that the great majority of individuals did not appear to follow through.
Mimic Shhans, which was launched in October, contains “playful black cat” NFTs dressed in various costumes and is minted on the Ethereum network.
