According to the Shibburn crypto tracker’s Twitter page, nearly 700 million Shiba Inu meme currencies have been burned in the last 48 hours.

Meanwhile, an Ethereum billionaire has amassed a staggering quantity of SHIB—241.3 billion tokens.

707 million Shiba Inu destroyed by community

In a recent tweet, the aforementioned SHIB tracker stated that in the past 24 hours, a total of 404,393,504 SHIB tokens have been removed from circulation by getting moved to unspendable crypto addresses, i.e., burned.

A 400 million bulk of that sum was cremated in a single transaction. Earlier, @Shibburn tweeted that 303.6 million Shiba Inu were sent to “incinerator wallets” the day before.

As a result, the total amount of SHIB burned in the last two days is around 707 million SHIB.

The whale “Gimli” purchases 404.3 billion SHIB

The owner of the “Gimli” wallet owns an astonishing 421,370,420,624 Shiba Inu, according to a recent tweet provided by WhaleStats website. This wallet is named after one of the main characters in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy novel “The Lord of the Rings,” and it is ranked 11th on WhaleStats’ scale of ETH investors.

The whale purchased this vast quantity of SHIB in two transactions, the first of which was for 271,370,420,624.152 SHIB. A short time later, another SHIB purchase—this time for 150,000,000,000 tokens—was made.

This investor has purchased a total of $11,313,795 worth of meme coins.

According to the page of his wallet on WhaleStats, the investor appears to have liquidated all of his SHIB holdings by now. At the time of writing, this wallet includes $3,720,011,780 in ETH-based tokens, with Meta having the highest USD value.
