YellowHeart Partnered With MGM Grand Resorts To Sell NFT Tickets For Jabbawockeez Dance Shows

YellowHeart, a non-fungible token (NFT) ticketing platform, flew to Las Vegas this week for its first collaboration with MGM Grand Resorts, selling a collection of NFT tickets to a series of Jabbawockeez dance shows. The collection of 1,110 NFTs allows holders to reserve seats at the in-person concerts, which run until April 30, as well as other benefits such as food and drink credits, airdropped digital collectibles, and meet-and-greet opportunities.

It’s the latest collaboration between the Polygon-based ticketing platform and the world of traditional entertainment, with the idea being that NFTs may operate as a type of social token for increased interaction between fans and artists, in addition to being a more secure and fraud-proof way to sell tickets.

“Our product makes perfect sense for Vegas, where every door seems to require some type of access. Normally when you walk out of the MGM, it’s all over. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, as they say. But with these tickets, we’re really giving people a collectible to remember the show by, people love the artwork and how it changes after being scanned.”

Josh Katz, CEO of YellowHeart,

The company launched its app in October, despite the fact that the non-fungible ticketing market is still in its early phases. According to Katz, approximately 100 YellowHeart tickets have been sold so far for the show, while ticket sales volume for these types of shows is often focused on the final performances.

YellowHeart is currently raising its Series A fundraising round. Up to date, it has received $7 million in seed capital. Backstage and GET Protocol, both of which are built on the Polygon blockchain, are two more NFT ticketing companies seeking to create a name for themselves in the rapidly expanding field.
