The tourist group in Portorož, a summer town on Slovenia’s Adriatic coast, has chosen non-fungible tokens to market the location (NFTs). The initiative is the highly digitalized of the region’s visitor attraction campaign this year.
Portorož, in the southern town of Piran, has become the country’s first resort with its own non-fungible tokens, immediately after the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) released a “sLOVEnia NFT” last month. According to local media, the initiative’s major purpose is to promote the two seaside communities as innovative, digital, and green attractions.
The head of the Portorož Tourist Society, Alexander Valentin, believes the portal to the metaverse is now open. He is confident that it’ll be a tremendous undertaking for future generations. The comment was delivered during a presentation honoring Portorož’s achievements.
The newly installed location NFTs layout is intended to attract tourists to return. Tourists will be able to choose 3 coins from three different sets. They will, however, engage in three activities. Participating in a reward event is one of the three actions. Then, subscribe to a newsletter and post a sticker on Instagram with the resort’s @portorozpiran account. A maximum of one 100 NFTs are available in each collection.
Portorož and Piran are strengthening their promotional operations on social media in addition to entering the crypto realm through the NFT project. According to the magazine, the municipalities have lately joined the short-form video site Tiktok.
