With the start of a major billboard marketing campaign, Newegg, a renowned tech-focused company, has proclaimed its support for the meme cryptocurrency shiba inu (SHIB). According to Newegg, it aims to take shiba inu as payment in early December.

On Tuesday, major online retailer Newegg revealed its intention to accept the meme cryptocurrency shiba inu (SHIB) for payment.

Newegg is one of North America’s biggest tech-focused online retailers, with a global presence in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East. Its platform specializes in computer components, PC components, laptops, gaming systems, automobile parts, and office supplies.

According to the announcement:

We’ll be officially accepting @Shibtoken in by early December via @Bitpay

According to the e-commerce giant, the SHIB acceptance announcement was presented “on a big scale with a major digital out-of-home (DOOH) campaign shown on The Reef, North America’s largest DOOH billboard.”

The Reef, which is located in downtown Los Angeles, California, “wraps around three sides of a big office structure encompassing a whole Los Angeles city block,” according to Newegg. “At 55 feet tall and 736 feet wide, the 40,000+ square foot DOOH billboard is one of the world’s most spectacular billboards,” according to the business.

Bitpay is now used by the retail giant to accept a variety of cryptocurrencies. According to Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theatres, the crypto payment service provider chose to add SHIB to its list of accepted cryptocurrencies in response to his request.

Aron stated in early November that AMC will be the first enterprise to accept SHIB through Bitpay. However, the theater chain is not now accepting Bitpay, and Aron stated that the meme coin shiba inu would be accepted within 60 to 120 days after his statement. This strategy would place AMC behind Newegg in terms of embracing SHIB.

The retail’s director of brand marketing, Andrew Choi, commented:
