Parallel, a sci-fi trading card game based on non-fungible tokens (NFTs), will auction off a single edition NFT and donate the earnings to the online learning site Khan Academy.

In the previous year, more corporations have chosen to employ NFTs for philanthropic causes, such as Macy’s contributing a share of their Thanksgiving-themed NFT sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club donating $850,000 to an orangutan protection foundation. The upward trend appears to continue continuing through 2022.

The non-fungible token (NFT) sci-fi trading card game Parallel will auction off a single edition NFT and donate the earnings to the famous online learning platform Khan Academy.

Khan Academy tweeted:

“Auctions are a tried and true way to raise money for nonprofits, but this is the first time we’ve been the beneficiary of an NFT auction,” 

The auction will begin on Wednesday, January 19 at 5 p.m. EST and conclude on Friday, January 21 at the same time.

According to The Giving Block, an organization that provides non-profits with the facilities to accept bitcoin payments, charitable organizations earned over $2.4 million in crypto donations in 2021.

 Khan Academy, an American non-profit educational institution, founded in 2008. Its purpose is to develop a set of online tools that will aid in the education of kids. The group creates short movies with teachings.

Its website also has additional practice tasks and tools for educators. It has created over 8,000 video courses that educate a wide range of academic disciplines, with an initial concentration on mathematics and science. Users of the website and application can access all materials for free.
