According to the official Twitter, the third quarter Governance Fund Grants Program of Optimism will start on January 26.
This quarter, the Builders Committee and the Growth Experiment Committee are fully composed of community members and representatives composed to maximize the number of developers on the Optimism Network and the number of users of applications on the Optimism Network.
All of the members of these committees are delegates and members of the community. Users can nominate themselves by January 11 if they are interested in serving on either committee.
Eight chosen Reviewers and one Council Lead will make up the Council. The decisions regarding which proposals get funds are made by reviewers. All administrative and operational facets of the Council will be under the control of the Council Lead. The Council’s success depends entirely on this position.
As detailed below, the Lead will collaborate closely with senior delegates and play a crucial administrative and operational role in S3. The Council Lead is in charge of the following:
- Processing and filtering applications, making sure they are viewable on the forum unless a proposer opts out of forum publication.
- Provisioning and/or maintaining external and internal information about the grants program and any other resources needed by the Council.
- Facilitating coordination across Council sub-committees by scheduling and hosting regular Council meetings.
- Monitoring progress towards milestones and running a process to ensure milestones have been met before milestone-based distributions are made.
- Preparing regular reports to communicate grant allocations at the end of each cycle and periodic reports to communicate milestone updates from grantees
- Submitting budget/renewal proposals at the end of the Season, if applicable.
- Exercising decision-making authority if Council sub-committees cannot come to a consensus on an administrative or operational matter.
The Council Lead will agree to devote 30 hours per week to these duties and will be compensated with 35,000 OP each season. If the Council remains active in succeeding Seasons, the post can evolve into a full-time contributor one.
