Yuga Labs Accuses Artists Of Copying Bored Ape NFTs

Despite the fact that the motion to dismiss objections from the Bored Ape Yacht Club founders was refused by a U.S. federal court on Friday, the legal dispute between NFT developers Yuga Labs and an artist and his NFT business partner has been carrying on.
Yuga Labs Accuses Artists Of Copying Bored Ape NFTs

Ryder Ripps, a California-based artist, and Jeremy Cahen, the creator of the NFT marketplace, were the targets of a lawsuit brought out by Yuga Labs against them in June on the grounds that they had copied, sold, and devalued the original Bored Ape items.

In October, defendants Ripps and Cahen filed a motion to dismiss Yuga Labs’ opposition as well as an anti-strategic lawsuit against public participation (SLAPP). These motions have now been dismissed by the Central California District Court.

Previously, Conceptual artist Ryder Ripps has described the lawsuit as an attack on his free speech, and he stated on Twitter that he would only agree to settle the matter for at least $100 billion. However, his statement has been deleted after which.
